Darkest Simpsons

A dark parody of the iconic opening sequence from The Simpsons - a show I’ve been a fan of since childhood - reimagined as a bleak Eastern European arthouse film. To make the short feel more authentic, a fictional pseudo-Slavic language was invented specifically for the film, along with the fictional Serbian-style director name “Lenivko Kvadratič” - which roughly translates to “Lazy Square.” The director, of course, does not actually exist.

What started as an absurd fan-made experiment unexpectedly went viral worldwide, was featured by major international media outlets, won the Best Film Under One Minute award at Festival Azyl 2020 in Slovakia, and in 2019 had its broadcast rights officially acquired by FOX.
